Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026/09/29

Wasilni transports students and staff commuters on shared daily routes. Doing that safely means we hold data about children, so this policy says plainly what we collect, why, who can see it, and how long we keep it.

Who we are

Wasilni (وَصَّلني) operates two mobile applications: Wasilni for guardians and riders, and Wasilni Captain for drivers. This policy covers both, and the service behind them.

For any question about this policy, or to exercise any right described in it, write to support@waselni.app.

What we collect

Account: your phone number, which is also how you sign in, and your name. An email address only if you give us one.

Riders: for each rider a guardian registers — name, gender, date of birth, school or workplace, school stage and class, a photo if one is uploaded, the pickup and drop-off addresses, emergency contacts, and any medical notes the guardian chooses to record so the assigned driver knows about them.

Location: the driver app records the vehicle's position while a trip is active, including when the app is in the background or the phone is locked, so guardians can follow the vehicle. The guardian app reads your location only when you tap to place an address on the map, and never in the background.

Cabin imagery: approximately one still frame per second from the interior camera during an active trip. There is no continuous video and no audio recording of any kind.

Trips: boarding and drop-off times, attendance, and the route taken.

Drivers only: national ID number, driving licence, vehicle documents, and the bank account or wallet number your payouts go to.

Technical: a push-notification token for your device, and the app version, so notifications reach you and we can diagnose faults.

What we do not do

We do not record audio in any vehicle. The microphone is not used by either app.

We do not show advertising in either app, and no rider — adult or child — is profiled for advertising.

We do not use analytics, attribution or crash-reporting services, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

Who can see what

A guardian sees their own riders, and the live position and cabin frames only of the vehicle currently carrying one of their riders, and only while that trip is active.

A driver sees the riders assigned to their own trip — names, photos, pickup points, emergency contacts and medical notes — because carrying a child safely requires it.

Wasilni support and operations staff can access records to resolve an incident or a complaint. Every access to medical notes and every access to cabin imagery is written to an audit log that cannot be edited or deleted.

No guardian ever sees another family's rider, another family's vehicle, or another family's imagery. For corporate accounts, an employer sees aggregate trip and attendance reporting and does not get camera access by default.

Cabin recording

Recording is on for every trip and every vehicle carries visible signage saying so. A driver must confirm the signage is present during the daily vehicle check, and a trip cannot start without a working camera.

Frames are encrypted in transit and at rest, and are deleted automatically after 7 days by a storage-level rule — not by an application routine that could silently fail. A frame is kept past 7 days only when it has been flagged for an open incident investigation.

How long we keep things

Cabin frames: 7 days, then automatic deletion.

Account and rider records: for as long as the account is active.

After you delete your account: identifying data is destroyed, and the records that must survive — the audit log, the trip history and invoices — are kept with your identity replaced by a meaningless reference, for 24 months.

Driver identity documents are kept while the driver is active and for the period required of a transport operator afterwards.

Children

Children are not account holders. A guardian who is an adult creates the account, registers the rider, and consents on their behalf.

Because there is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking in either app, no child's data is used for any purpose other than delivering the transport service and keeping them safe on it.

A guardian may view, correct or erase any of their rider's data at any time, from the app or by writing to support@waselni.app.

Your rights

You can see and correct your data in the app.

You can delete your account, permanently, from inside the app or at the deletion page on this site. Deleting a guardian account also erases the records of the riders registered under it.

You can ask us what we hold about you by writing to support@waselni.app. We answer within 30 days.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit with TLS 1.3 and at rest. Access by staff is role-based and audited.

If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the relevant authority without undue delay.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and we will notify you in the app before a change that materially affects you takes effect.
